COURSE OUTLINE

Sensory Integration is a common theory and frame of reference developed and used widely by occupational therapy practitioners. This workshop will focus on utilizing sensory integration theory to improve academic outcomes and reduce problem behaviors common in the classroom. Through case examples, participants will analyze how sensory integration contributes to behavior and how sensory-based teaching can be applied to improve academic performance for every student. Participants will be introduced to sensory integration theory and will complete a dynamic learning lab to learn sensory-based strategies that can be used for individuals and the class as a whole.
